Rose & Bee Mahjong uses personal information only to operate the league, provide the app and protect its members. We do not sell or rent personal information, including email addresses and cell numbers.
We collect information needed to create and manage an account, participate in league matches, record scores and communicate about league play. This may include your name, mahjong experience level, email address, optional cell number, optional profile photo, league membership, match participation and scores.
We also store direct messages, match-chat messages, venue suggestions and the information needed to deliver notifications. Basic technical information may be processed to maintain an authenticated session, operate the installed web app, prevent misuse and troubleshoot the service.
Your name and mahjong experience level are visible to active members of your league. If you upload a profile photo, it is also visible to active league members.
Scores from eligible completed matches are used to show current-calendar Scoreboard statistics to active members. These statistics include matches played, matches won, highest match score and average score.
Direct messages may be one-to-one conversations or member-created group conversations. The member creating a group selects its participants, and messages are visible to everyone included in that conversation. Match chats are visible to the host and confirmed or waitlisted participants who have access to that match conversation. Messages are not displayed publicly.
Deleting a message or clearing a conversation removes it only from your view. Other participants retain their view of the message or conversation. Messages may also be processed by service providers or accessed when reasonably necessary to operate, secure or support the app, comply with law or protect members.
Match heads-ups, confirmations, cancellations, waitlist promotions and host changes are delivered as direct messages in the app. Members may separately opt in to receive email copies of match notices. Email copies are off by default and may be turned off at any time from the member profile.
If you enable push notifications, the app stores a device subscription endpoint and related browser information needed to deliver alerts. Notification previews identify that a new message arrived but do not display the message itself. Push notifications may be disabled in your device or browser settings.
Account confirmation, sign-in, password-reset and other essential account-security messages may still be sent by email because they are required to access or protect your account.
Email addresses and cell numbers are private by default. Members may separately choose whether to share their email address or cell number with active members of their league. Leaving either option unchecked means that information is not displayed in the member directory.
Contact-sharing choices are separate from the choice to receive email copies of match notices. Members may change these choices at any time from their profile. Turning sharing off removes the information from the member directory.
The Places to Play directory stores venue names, addresses and Google place identifiers selected by an administrator. When a member suggests a venue, the venue name, address, optional note and member's name are sent to league administrators through direct messages for review.
Venue search, maps and links use Google Maps services. Google may process technical and location-related information under its own privacy practices when those services load or are opened. Review the Google Privacy Policy for more information.
We use information to authenticate accounts, manage league membership, maintain profiles, schedule matches, administer waitlists, send match notices, support direct messaging, record scores, calculate Scoreboard statistics, maintain the Places to Play directory, support members and protect the service.
Service providers may process information on our behalf for cloud hosting, database and authentication services, email delivery, maps, file storage and push notifications. We do not permit service providers to sell member information.
Paid memberships are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, your payment details are collected and stored by Stripe, not by us. We never see or store your full card number. We keep only what is needed to know whether your membership is current: an identifier for your Stripe customer and subscription, the plan you chose, its status and its renewal date.
Stripe handles your payment information as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. If you never subscribe, no payment information is collected.
We may disclose information when required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect the security, rights or safety of members, the league or the service.
Rose & Bee is an app only. Your membership doesn't include an NMJL card, tiles, or any physical items, and we're not affiliated with any mahjong league, manufacturer, or retailer.
Members may update their profile, email-notification opt-in and contact-sharing choices at any time. Members may also disable push notifications through their device or browser settings.
Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed to operate the league, provide the service, meet legal obligations and maintain legitimate league records. Because deleting or clearing a message affects only your view, the message may remain available to other conversation participants. Contact the league administrator to request help with account information or deletion.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to limit access to member information and protect it from unauthorized use. No online service can guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy as the app changes. The effective date at the top of this page identifies the most recent revision.
Contact the administrator with privacy questions or requests concerning your information.
