Why we started
Rose & Bee Mahjong began in 2026 with a simple idea: it should be easier to get a mahjong game together.
Most players already have people they enjoy playing with. But schedules change, someone is unavailable and sometimes you simply want more opportunities to play. Rose & Bee Mahjong was created to make that easier — without turning mahjong into another season, fixed schedule or competitive commitment.

Rose & Bee Mahjong is a year-round home for people who play American Mah Jongg in person, and playing costs nothing.
Anyone can schedule a game, join an open table and connect with other players in their community. Seats, waitlists, match chat, notifications and playing history stay together in one place, so less time goes into organizing the game and more time goes into playing it.
There are no seasons to register for and no league schedule to follow. Play four times a week or once a month.
Built around real communities
Rose & Bee Mahjong started in Richmond, Virginia, but it was designed to grow beyond one city.
When 24 players are ready to play in a new community, Rose & Bee Mahjong can open there. As the network grows, a membership can also help players connect with games in other Rose & Bee communities.
Already have four people you play with? You do not have to wait for a public community to open. Members can also create a private, invitation-only group and use Rose & Bee Mahjong to organize their own games.
The table is still the point
The app should make mahjong easier, not get in the way of it.
Rose & Bee Mahjong keeps the logistics together while leaving the experience where it belongs — around a table, playing with people you enjoy and perhaps meeting a few new ones along the way.
